So, what’s the difference between hosting, domains, and websites?

A visitor enters your domain name into their web browser, that domain is translated to your server IP address, and the server sends the user the files from your site. Their browser interprets those as a typical web page that the user can view. Without each of these elements, there is no website.
Those three elements are: domain names, web-hosting servers, and site files.
Domain Names
Computers use numbers to communicate, also known as IP addresses. It is how they contact each other, and it can be compared to how you dial a number and reach someone over the phone. Domain names are essentially just like the entries in your contacts list, or in a phone book.
Without a domain, you wouldn’t be able to name your site, brand it for your customers and audience, or even visit or load a site. Domain Search and Registration Tool
Website Server
A website server is an internet hosting service that allows organizations and individuals to make their web page accessible to everyone across the internet. Web hosts provide space on a server directly connected to the internet that can be rented, leased, or owned by clients to provide internet connectivity.
A hosting website is a lot like commercial rental spaces for your business. Except with Crown Hosting you get lots of fixtures and fittings like email, website builders and hundreds of free apps like WordPress and Blogs etc. Without a hosting website, there is nowhere for you to store your files. That essentially means that your domain is just like a disconnected phone number that is still listed in the phone book. Your web pages are left with nowhere to stay. Get Web Hosting
Site Files
The site files are what potential customers and visitors to your website actually see when visiting your site to look at your services and products. Your site files are just the same as any other files that you use normally, like an .mp3 is a music file, and a .jpg is a photograph. Website files use .html or .php files, which are html text pages, and PHP scripts.
Web-hosting servers understand how to read these files, the files explain how the web page appears and instruct the server how complete a series of computations. The computations are basically things like determining what blog article should be sent back to the viewer, or what post on a forum should be sent back.
